Nashik Police Investigate Two Separate Murder Cases Over Weekend Violence
In a disturbing series of events, the Nashik city police have registered two distinct murder cases between Sunday and Monday, stemming from violent altercations that resulted in the deaths of two young men. Both incidents, occurring in different parts of the city, highlight escalating tensions leading to fatal outcomes, with law enforcement swiftly making arrests in response.
First Case: Confrontation Over Staring Leads to Fatal Attack
The first case was registered at the MIDC police station, involving the murder of 27-year-old Vishal Hiwrale, a resident of the Chunchale area. According to police reports, Hiwrale confronted two men from his locality who had been persistently staring at his wife, sparking an argument. On Saturday night, the situation turned deadly when the accused, identified as Kuldeep Uchit (26) and Piyush Wagh (19), attacked Hiwrale with sharp weapons, causing fatal injuries. A complaint was filed early on Sunday, leading to the prompt arrest of both suspects. An officer stated, "The deceased had argued with two people from the same area as they used to stare at his wife," underscoring the trivial nature of the dispute that escalated into a homicide.
Second Case: Altercation Over Cigarette Sharing Turns Fatal
In a separate incident, another 27-year-old man, Rahul Raut, was attacked on Saturday night following an altercation over sharing a cigarette. The Panchavati police station reported that Raut and his friends were smoking near a temple at Navnath Nagar around 9:30 PM when the accused, Rohidas Aher (26), approached and demanded a cigarette. This demand quickly escalated into a heated argument, culminating in Aher striking Raut with a blunt object on his head and face, inflicting severe injuries. Raut was rushed to the civil hospital but succumbed to his wounds early on Monday. Initially, an attempt to murder case was filed, but after Raut's death, additional sections were added to the charges. Police confirmed, "We have arrested the accused and are investigating the case," emphasizing the ongoing legal proceedings.
Police Response and Community Impact
The Nashik police have acted decisively in both cases, ensuring the arrest of the perpetrators and launching thorough investigations. These incidents have raised concerns about public safety and the potential for minor disputes to spiral into violent crimes in the city. Authorities are urging residents to exercise caution and report any suspicious activities to prevent such tragedies in the future. The community is left grappling with the loss of two young lives, highlighting the need for conflict resolution and heightened vigilance in urban areas.
