In a devastating series of events, two separate road accidents in Andhra Pradesh have resulted in the deaths of five individuals, including three minors, and left three others injured. The incidents occurred in the Anakapalle and Tiruvuru districts, highlighting ongoing road safety concerns in the region.

Midnight Bus Collision in Anakapalle District Kills Three

A horrific accident unfolded near Pothireddipalem under the Yelamanchili (Rural) police station limits in Anakapalle district on Thursday midnight. According to police reports, a private travel bus traveling from Anakapalle towards Tuni collided with a two-wheeler that was attempting to take a U-turn near Pothireddipalem Junction.

The impact was severe, resulting in critical injuries for all three individuals on the bike. The deceased have been identified as Bangaru Nani (24) and E Govind (25), both residents of Purushottapuram, and Bangaru Durga Prasad (16) of Pothireddipalem. All three victims were from Yelamanchali mandal in the district.

Tragically, two of the victims succumbed to their injuries while being transported to the hospital, and the third died while undergoing treatment. Police confirmed that the trio were friends who were traveling from Purushottapuram to Pothireddipalem when the fatal collision occurred.

Lorry Runs Over Teens in Tiruvuru, Killing Two and Injuring Three

In a separate and equally tragic incident, two teenagers were killed and three others injured when a lorry ran over them at Lakshmipuram in Tiruvuru during the early hours of Friday. The accident took place around 3 am, according to Tiruvuru police.

The victims were a group of five teens who had gone for catering work and were returning on a bike and an auto. They had stopped at Lakshmipuram to distribute their wages among themselves when the tragedy struck.

"The five teens stopped their vehicles and were having casual talks by the roadside at Lakshmipuram during which tragedy struck in the form of the lorry. While two were crushed under the lorry wheels, the remaining three who were hit by the vehicle escaped with injuries," stated Tiruvuru Circle Inspector K Giri Babu.

The deceased have been identified as Eswar, 16, and M Sunny, 17, both natives of Tiruvuru. The injured include D Venkateswara Rao, 16, D Ram Charan, 17, and B Charan Teja, 17, residents of Tiruvuru and Gampalagudem.

Police Response and Ongoing Investigations

Upon learning about the Tiruvuru incident, police rushed to the spot, launched rescue operations, and shifted the two bodies to a government hospital for an inquest. Charan Teja, whose condition is reported as critical, was transferred to a private hospital in Vijayawada for advanced treatment, while the other two injured are receiving care in Tiruvuru.

In both cases, the drivers of the vehicles involved fled the scene. Police have registered cases and initiated manhunts to apprehend the lorry driver in Tiruvuru and are investigating the bus driver's role in the Anakapalle accident. These incidents underscore the urgent need for enhanced road safety measures and stricter enforcement of traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies in the future.
