Two Ropar Youth Arrested with 10.29 gm Heroin in Una

The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) of Una police apprehended two young men from Ropar district, Punjab, late last night, recovering 10.29 grams of heroin from their possession. The arrests were made during a routine check near the Shiv temple in Bhatoli village.

Details of the Arrest

Police had set up a picket at the location. When the duo arrived on a motorcycle, they were stopped for inspection. The contraband was discovered on them. The motorcycle driver, Rahul Kumar, a resident of Nangal township, and the pillion rider, Abhishek, from Dabeta in Nangal tehsil, both in Ropar district, were taken into custody.

Legal Action

Both individuals have been booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Una Superintendent of Police Sachin Hiremath confirmed the arrests in a statement released today.
