The police have arrested two tractor-trailer drivers in connection with a road accident that claimed the lives of two motorcycle riders and left another seriously injured in Nakodar. The incident occurred on July 10 near Laddhar village.
Details of the Incident
According to the complaint filed by Harpreet Singh, he was traveling in his car towards Nakodar while his brother-in-law Hardeep Singh was riding a motorcycle ahead of him along with friends Harjot Singh and Pradeep Singh. Near Laddhar village, a tractor-trailer loaded with paddy straw was traveling ahead of the motorcycle. The tractor was being driven by Satnam Singh, who allegedly turned the tractor towards the opposite side of the road without ensuring it was safe to do so. As the motorcycle attempted to overtake, it collided with the straw-laden trolley, causing all three riders to fall onto the road.
Second Tractor Ran Over Victims
The complainant further alleged that another tractor-trolley loaded with maize, which was following behind and allegedly being driven at high speed and negligently by another Satnam Singh, ran over the three men after they fell on the road. As a result, Hardeep Singh and Harjot Singh died on the spot, while Pradeep Singh sustained serious injuries. Both tractor drivers allegedly fled the scene after the incident.
