A team from the local crime branch conducted a raid at a hotel in the Wadgaon locality of Chandrapur city, rescuing two women who were allegedly forced into prostitution. The operation led to the arrest of one accused, while a search is underway for another suspect.

Operation Details

Acting on a tip-off, the police team executed the operation using a decoy customer under the provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. The raid was led by Police Inspector Amol Kachore and was supported by social workers, female witnesses, and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit. The investigation uncovered an organized sex trade allegedly operated by Saoji Pandurang Hastak (74) and his son Pradeep Hastak (30).

Seized Items and Legal Action

During the raid, law enforcement officials seized cash, mobile phones, registers, and QR payment records from the premises. A case has been registered at the Ramnagar police station under relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic Act. The accused in custody is being questioned to identify other individuals involved in the network.
