Tragic Late-Night Accident Claims Two Lives in Prayagraj
A horrific road accident late on Thursday night snuffed out the lives of two young men in Prayagraj. The incident occurred near the Shastri Bridge, within the jurisdiction of the Jhunsi police station.
The victims have been identified as Vikash Mishra, aged 35, from Daraganj, and Ankur Khare, aged 30, from Jhunsi. Both succumbed to their injuries at the spot itself.
Grim Details of the Hit-and-Run
According to police reports, a speeding dumper mowed down the two youths. The impact was severe and fatal. In a particularly gruesome detail, while one of the victims came under the rear wheels of the heavy vehicle, the other was dragged by the dumper for approximately 100 metres.
Station Officer of Jhunsi police station, Mahesh Mishra, confirmed the sequence of events. The bodies were sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. The police have seized the offending dumper, but the driver managed to flee the scene.
