The Vadodara police have successfully cracked the murder case of a woman whose decomposed body was discovered in a field in Savli taluka last month. On Thursday, authorities arrested a 30-year-old man from Sabarkantha in connection with the crime.
Arrest of the Accused
The accused, identified as Sagarsinh Makwana, was taken into custody after investigators traced crucial evidence linking him to the murder of 45-year-old Bhavna Parmar, a widow from Talod taluka in Sabarkantha district. According to police officials, Parmar's unidentified body was found in a field in Muval village on April 11 by passers-by, who promptly alerted the authorities. Initially, investigators faced challenges in determining the cause of death as the body had already begun to decompose.
Investigation Details
"Our team started scanning CCTV footage from a temple in Savli during the investigation," said Vadodara rural SP Sushil Agrawal. The police discovered that Parmar had visited the Bhammarghoda Mataji temple on March 31. Her photograph was subsequently circulated across the state through social media platforms, eventually reaching her family members, who identified her.
During the course of the probe, law enforcement learned that Parmar was in a relationship with Makwana, a married man employed at a company in Manjusar GIDC. According to police statements, Makwana told investigators that Parmar frequently pressured him to meet her and allegedly threatened to reveal their affair to his wife. He claimed that he was frustrated by their repeated arguments.
Details of the Crime
Makwana allegedly called Parmar to Vadodara in March under the pretext of visiting the temple. During the visit, the two had another argument, following which he allegedly strangled her to death in a fit of rage. He then dumped her body in a field before fleeing the scene. The police have now solved the case and continue to investigate further.
