Tragic Vikarabad Accident Claims Three Lives, Leaves One Injured

A devastating road accident in Vikarabad district resulted in the tragic deaths of three family members and left their son injured on Monday morning. The incident occurred when a truck collided head-on with the scooter they were traveling on.

Family Identified and Circumstances Revealed

The deceased have been identified as Kaviraj (40), a private financier from Zaheerabad, his wife Pavani (35), and their 11-year-old daughter Keerthana. Their 13-year-old son, Karthik, sustained injuries in the collision and was rushed to Niloufer Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

According to Peddemul Sub-Inspector Prashant Vardhan, the family had traveled to Rukmapur on Sunday to visit Pavani's relatives. The purpose of their visit was to discuss preparations for her brother's wedding, which is scheduled for next month. After completing their family visit, they embarked on their return journey to Zaheerabad in the early hours of Monday morning.

Details of the Fatal Collision

The tragic accident unfolded around 6:30 AM near Tattepalli village under Peddemul mandal. Police investigation revealed that the truck driver, identified as Md Sharif, was operating his vehicle in a negligent manner. The truck veered into the wrong lane, directly colliding with the family's scooter on the right half of the road.

"The impact was severe and immediate," stated Sub-Inspector Vardhan. "Kaviraj, Pavani, and their young daughter Keerthana suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. Their son Karthik also sustained significant injuries in the crash."

Legal Action and Aftermath

Following a formal complaint from the victims' family, authorities have registered a case against truck driver Md Sharif under specific sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS):

  • Section 106(1): Causing death due to negligence
  • Section 125(a): Causing hurt by an act endangering life or personal safety of others

The truck driver has been issued an official notice as per legal procedures. Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased family members were transported to Tandur Government Hospital for post-mortem examination before being handed over to their grieving relatives.

This tragic incident highlights the ongoing concerns about road safety and negligent driving on Indian highways. The loss of three family members in a single accident has left the local community in shock and mourning.
