Wanted Criminal with Rs 5,000 Bounty Injured in Police Shootout in Bhadohi District
A criminal carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 on his head was injured in a dramatic shootout with Koirauna police and subsequently arrested along with two accomplices in Bhadohi district late on Tuesday night. The incident unfolded after police received a crucial tip-off about suspects involved in recent criminal activities in the area.
Police Recover Weapons and Motorcycle After Intense Chase
Following the confrontation, police recovered a country-made pistol, several cartridges, various tools, a knife, and a motorcycle from the scene. The injured criminal, identified as Sandeep Yadav of Prayagraj, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities confirmed that Sandeep was wanted in over 12 criminal cases spanning multiple districts, including Bhadohi and Prayagraj.
Night Patrol Leads to High-Stakes Encounter
Bhadohi Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Mangalik provided detailed insights into the operation. He stated that Koirauna police were conducting a routine night patrol when they received specific intelligence around midnight regarding suspects allegedly involved in recent crimes. Acting swiftly on this information, officers moved to surround the Paigha area.
When police attempted to stop three individuals traveling on a motorcycle, the suspects immediately tried to flee the scene, triggering a high-speed chase. "The suspects fired at the police as they were being pursued," SP Mangalik explained. "In the ensuing exchange of fire, Sandeep Yadav was hit in the leg and successfully apprehended."
Two Additional Suspects Apprehended
In addition to Sandeep Yadav, police also arrested two other individuals:
- Jai Prakash Yadav
- A juvenile suspect whose identity has not been disclosed due to legal protections
