Wanted Smuggler Escapes ANTF Raid in Jhalawar, Robs Bike

A wanted smuggler, Liaquat, managed to evade an Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) raid in Jhalawar district on Saturday, escaping after robbing a motorbike at gunpoint, according to police officials.

Escape During Raid

Jhalawar Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar stated, "Wanted smuggler Liaquat succeeded in escaping during the raid and robbed a motorbike from a rider." A separate case has been registered regarding the robbery, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend him.

Associates Detained

During the operation in Ghatakhedi village under Dug police station limits, five of Liaquat's associates were detained. Two aides, identified as Arif Khan and Ujer, sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital. Arif Khan succumbed to his injuries en route, while Ujer is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Jhalawar.

Allegations of Assault

Villagers and family members have alleged that police assaulted the detained men in a nearby forest during the raid. Police records indicate that Arif Khan had been listed as a history-sheeter at Dag police station since 2022, with multiple cases registered against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
