In a bizarre incident early Monday morning, unidentified men stole drinking water meters from more than ten houses in Chacha Fakirchand locality in Burhanpur. The theft occurred around 5am and was captured on local CCTV cameras, showing the suspects dismantling the meters and placing them into bags.

Victims and Complaint

Affected residents, including Rajesh Salve, an assistant project coordinator in the education department, and his neighbours, lodged a complaint at Shikarpura police station. Salve expressed shock at the incident, noting that such thefts are unprecedented in the area.

The Shikarpura police have accepted the written complaints and initiated an investigation. Authorities are analysing the CCTV footage to identify and arrest the accused. Police officials stated they are working to determine the motives behind this unusual theft, which has left the community concerned.
