The disturbance occurred in Rampura village, located within the jurisdiction of the Maudarwaza police station. The wedding procession, or baraat, of groom Yogesh Rajput from Majra Nagla Roop had arrived at the village for the ceremony. During the dinner festivities, some youths from the groom's side allegedly served the controversial raita dish containing alcohol to guests.
When several guests objected to this unexpected addition to the meal, the situation quickly escalated into a violent confrontation. Police were summoned to the scene and promptly took the groom to the police station for questioning and safety reasons.
