In a shocking revelation, the Dausa police have cracked a complex murder case, culminating in the arrest of a 35-year-old woman for allegedly orchestrating the contract killing of her own husband. The investigation, which began with the grim discovery of an unidentified body, unraveled a tale of betrayal and premeditated murder driven by an illicit relationship.
Body Found Near Expressway Triggers Probe
The case came to light on February 10, 2025, when police found an unidentified body near the Bandikui–Jaipur link road at the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway. Officials noted the absence of any identification documents on the deceased, making the task of solving the crime particularly challenging. A case was immediately registered, and a special investigation team was formed to identify the victim and trace the origins of the crime.
Technical Sleuthing Uncovers a Motive of Betrayal
The police investigation was a meticulous process combining human intelligence, technical data analysis, and scrutiny of extensive CCTV footage from highways and toll plazas. Through persistent effort, the victim was identified as Ashanand alias Pande from Bihar. Retracing his final movements led investigators to a startling motive: an illicit affair involving his wife, Shweta alias Shilpi Sharma.
Police concluded that Ashanand was seen as an obstacle to this relationship and was deliberately eliminated. The murder was executed as a cold-blooded contract killing. The mastermind behind the plot was identified as Dharmendra alias DK, who arranged the murder. He hired Ramsundar alias Bittu from Uttar Pradesh to carry out the act. Ashanand was shot, and his body was strategically dumped near the expressway to delay identification and hinder the investigation.
Arrests Bring Conspirators to Justice
The police net gradually closed in on all the accused. Dharmendra was apprehended in Ghaziabad, along with the vehicle used in the crime. The alleged shooter, Ramsundar, was captured on December 7. A country-made pistol and a live cartridge, believed to be the murder weapons, were recovered from him.
The final and most crucial arrest was that of the victim's wife, Shweta Sharma, who had been evading capture. Through technical surveillance and local intelligence inputs, she was located and arrested from Bihar's Bhojpur district. The Dausa police confirmed her central and pivotal role in the conspiracy, alleging she orchestrated her husband's murder to remove him from the picture.
With these arrests, the police have stated that all main accused in this contract killing case are now in custody, bringing a tragic and complex investigation to a close.
