Wife and Lover Among Three Arrested for Brutal Murder in UP's Amroha
In a shocking development from Uttar Pradesh, police have cracked a murder case with the arrest of three individuals, including the victim's wife and her alleged lover. The crime occurred in Piplooti Kalan village under the Hasanpur police station of Amroha district, where a 30-year-old man was found dead two days prior.
Gruesome Details of the Crime Scene
Mohammad Mehraj was sleeping with his wife and two children in a tin-shed when he was murdered on Saturday night. His father, Momin, discovered the body on Sunday morning, finding his son lying in a pool of blood. He immediately alerted the authorities, who launched a thorough investigation into the incident.
The body was sent to the district hospital for an autopsy, and a case was registered against unidentified assailants under section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on the complaint filed by Mehraj's father. Initial reports suggested that the victim's wife, Ruhi (28), had staged a drama of being unconscious during the murder, raising suspicions early in the probe.
Illicit Affair and Motive Behind the Murder
Investigations revealed that Ruhi had allegedly been involved in an illicit relationship with her sister's brother-in-law, Mohammad Farmaan, for nearly five years. This affair had led to frequent disputes between Mehraj and his wife, creating a volatile domestic environment. Police sources indicated that the couple had been living separately within the same house, and the victim was allegedly being denied food by his wife, adding to the tension.
On the night of the murder, the accused allegedly sedated Mehraj, tied his hands and legs to the cot where he was sleeping, and then murdered him with a sharp weapon. The assailants first slit his throat and then inflicted additional injuries on his hands and legs, suggesting a premeditated and brutal attack.
Arrests and Confessions
Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand confirmed the arrests, stating, "Three persons, including Ruhi, her lover Mohammad Farmaan, and his friend Adnaan Ahmad, were arrested and sent to jail on Monday." He added that the accused have confessed to their crime, providing crucial details that helped police piece together the events leading to the murder.
Villagers noted that loud DJ music from nearby wedding ceremonies may have masked any cries for help during the incident, potentially explaining why the crime went unnoticed initially. This environmental factor likely aided the perpetrators in carrying out their plan without immediate detection.
The case highlights ongoing issues of domestic violence and crime in rural areas, with police emphasizing the importance of community vigilance and prompt reporting. Authorities continue to investigate any possible accomplices or additional motives, ensuring that justice is served for the victim and his family.
