Woman Accuses Hotel Manager, Three Others of Gang Rape in Kanpur

Kanpur: A woman has accused four individuals, including a hotel manager, of gang rape at a hotel in Kalyanpur. The victim alleged that the accused forcibly made her consume alcohol before committing the crime, according to police sources.

The incident has not been confirmed during the preliminary police investigation, and further inquiries are ongoing. The woman, a student residing in Govind Nagar, stated that she went to a hotel in Kalyanpur late Sunday evening for personal reasons. She alleged that the hotel manager forced her to drink alcohol and, along with his accomplices, gang-raped her.

She managed to escape from the location and save her life. The victim claimed that the accused chased her and attempted to catch her until she reached the main road. After receiving a distress call via 112, personnel from the Kalyanpur police station arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. The victim stated that the other accused had fled before the police arrived. The hotel manager has been taken into custody and is being interrogated.

On Monday, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) visited the Kalyanpur police station to gather information from the woman. She submitted a written complaint demanding action. DCP SM Qasim Abidi stated that the woman described the incident as occurring on Sunday night. He mentioned that CCTV footage was reviewed as electronic evidence, but the incident and allegations were not confirmed in the preliminary investigation.

“The woman has been sent for a medical examination. Action will be taken after investigation based on the written complaint and medical report,” the DCP said.
