Woman Brutally Assaulted in Macherla Home Invasion
A shocking incident of extreme violence has rocked Macherla town in Palnadu district, where a 35-year-old woman government employee was brutally attacked in her own residence. The assault occurred on Thursday afternoon, leaving the victim with severe injuries after an unidentified man allegedly inserted an iron rod into her private parts.
Details of the Horrific Attack
According to Macherla Town CI Venkata Ramana, the preliminary investigation reveals that the incident took place between 3:30 pm and 4 pm on Thursday. The accused reportedly entered the victim's residence under the pretext of seeking drinking water. Once inside, he allegedly forced himself on the woman, who was alone at home at the time.
The attack escalated horrifically when the assailant tied the victim up with a scarf, raped her at knifepoint, and physically beat her. The situation turned even more brutal when, after the victim reportedly claimed she had an HIV infection, the attacker inserted an iron rod into her private parts. Following this heinous act, the accused fled from the scene, leaving the woman severely injured.
Discovery and Medical Response
The crime came to light through a series of concerned phone calls. The victim's nephew, who had been staying with her but had left for his parents' house after completing his Class X examinations, repeatedly tried to contact her by mobile phone. When he received no response, he grew concerned and alerted friends and family members to check on her.
Local residents rushed to the woman's residence and discovered her lying unconscious. They immediately informed the police, who responded promptly. The victim was first shifted to Macherla Government Hospital for initial treatment and later transferred to Narasaraopeta Area Hospital for more comprehensive medical care.
Medical authorities confirm that the victim is currently undergoing treatment at Narasaraopeta Area Hospital and is reported to be out of danger, though she has sustained severe injuries from the attack.
Police Investigation and Political Response
Palnadu district police have launched an intensive investigation into the crime. Four special teams have been formed specifically to track down the perpetrator, who remains at large. A comprehensive manhunt is underway across the region to apprehend the accused.
The incident has drawn strong political condemnation. Macherla MLA Julakanti Brahmananda Reddy expressed profound shock over the brutality of the attack. The MLA personally spoke with Guntur Range IG Sarvashreshth Tripathi, instructing police authorities to take the sternest possible action against whoever committed this horrific crime.
