Woman Dies by Suicide After Sambar Dispute with Husband in Bengaluru Village
A tragic incident has unfolded in a village on the outskirts of Bengaluru, where a 25-year-old woman reportedly died by suicide after consuming a grain-preserving tablet. The incident followed a domestic dispute with her husband over the serving of leftover sambar, according to police sources.
Details of the Incident
The deceased has been identified as Kavya, a homemaker and mother of a four-year-old son. She was married to Rangaswamy, a farmer residing in Genasanahalli village near Nelamangala. Police investigations reveal that the couple engaged in a heated argument after Kavya served sambar that had been prepared three days earlier and stored in the refrigerator.
While Rangaswamy reportedly did not object when the same sambar was served on the first two days, he scolded her on the third day for not preparing fresh food. This exchange escalated into a significant altercation, leaving Kavya deeply disturbed by the incident.
Medical Response and Outcome
On March 3, Kavya allegedly consumed the grain-preserving tablet in distress. Family members immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital for emergency care. She was later transferred to another facility that night for further specialized treatment.
Despite extensive medical efforts, Kavya did not respond to the treatment and succumbed to her condition in the early hours of the following day. The sudden loss has left the family and community in shock.
Police Investigation and Family Statement
In his official complaint, Kavya's father did not level any specific allegations against Rangaswamy or explicitly mention the argument over the sambar. However, he has requested that police thoroughly investigate the circumstances that led to his daughter taking such an extreme step.
The Dobbespet police have registered a case of unnatural death and are conducting a detailed inquiry into the matter. Authorities are examining all aspects of the case to determine the exact sequence of events and contributing factors.
