In a horrific incident in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district, a woman was allegedly drugged and raped by five men. The victim was later discovered in a nearby forested area during a search conducted by her family members after she failed to return home, police said on Sunday.

According to the police, the woman had gone out on Saturday evening and did not return home. Her family grew anxious and started searching for her. They found her unconscious in a forested area late at night. She was immediately taken to a hospital, where doctors confirmed she had been drugged and sexually assaulted.
Police Investigation
Based on the victim's statement, a case has been registered against five unidentified men under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including rape and criminal conspiracy. Senior police officials have visited the spot and assured strict action. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to nab the accused.
"The victim is undergoing treatment and is in stable condition. We are scanning CCTV footage and questioning locals to identify the culprits. All five accused will be arrested soon," said a police spokesperson.
