Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) based on a complaint from the deceased's father, Ajit Singh. The woman, identified as Seema, was a resident of Ullawas village in Gurgaon.
According to authorities, Seema's husband, Praveen, informed police that she had hanged herself in a locked room. Law enforcement received a call around 11 pm and arrived at the couple's rented accommodation in Sarvome Homes society.

Praveen told investigators that the couple argued over an issue before Seema entered her room. When she did not respond for an extended period, he looked through a window and saw her hanging from a ceiling fan.
Following the discovery, Seema's family members arrived at the society and accused her husband and in-laws of murder. Additional police personnel and a crime branch team were deployed after tensions escalated at the scene.
