Visakhapatnam: A 34-year-old woman was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances, and her 16-year-old son has gone missing in Dolapeta, Rajam, Vizianagaram district. The deceased has been identified as M Spandana, and her son as M Sushanth.
Incident Details
According to police and local sources, Spandana's husband, Rajesh, works at a private educational institution in Rajam. On Monday, Spandana visited her sister's home in Rajam and invited her family to a local deity festival at her husband's hometown, Metavalasa, under Bobbili mandal. She returned home on Monday morning.
When Rajesh went home for lunch on Monday afternoon, he found the house locked. Attempts to call Spandana's phone were unsuccessful as it remained switched off. Suspecting she might have gone out, Rajesh returned to work. Upon coming back in the evening, the house was still locked.
Alarmed, Rajesh began searching for his wife and eventually found her dead body in a water body near their home.
Police Investigation
Upon receiving the information, police led by Inspector Srinivasa Rao visited the scene and observed injury marks on the body. They also noted that Spandana's son, Sushanth, who had recently passed class 10 and was awaiting college admission, had also gone missing on the same day.
Rajesh reported that someone had entered their home and stolen valuables. Police discovered blood stains inside the house.
A special investigation team has been formed to intensify efforts to ascertain the cause of death and locate the missing boy. The police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
