A 22-year-old woman employed as a manager at a multinational company was discovered dead with her skull crushed near the Utretia railway station in Vrindavan Yojana on Monday. The victim, identified as Shivani Singh, had been missing since May 17 after leaving her home in Eldeco Udyan-2.
Discovery and Initial Investigation
Local residents spotted the body and alerted the police. Upon arrival, officers noted severe head injuries, indicating that the skull had been smashed with a heavy object. ADCP South Vasanth Kumar stated, “A field unit team inspected the scene and collected forensic evidence. The body was sent for postmortem after completing legal formalities.”
Identification and Family Notification
Police cross-referenced the description with a missing person complaint filed at the PGI police station. The family was contacted and later identified the body at the KGMU mortuary. Sources reveal that Shivani had become engaged just last month.
Suspect and Leads
Based on call detail records (CDR), authorities suspect that someone known to the victim, possibly a former lover, lured her to the isolated location before committing the murder. A senior officer commented, “Multiple teams have been formed to track the sequence of events and identify those last in contact with the victim.” Additionally, CCTV footage from nearby areas is being analyzed to gather further clues.
