Police reported on Tuesday that the tragic event occurred on March 10 in Anoopur Dhila village, where the victim, identified as Poonam, was playing ludo with the accused, Rishabh Kumar, a cousin of her husband.

The incident unfolded when other family members were not at home. During the ludo game, Rishabh Kumar reportedly pinched Poonam. When she objected and threatened to inform her husband and family, the argument quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.
Police stated that the accused dragged Poonam into the kitchen and strangled her, leading to her death. In an attempt to mislead investigators, he removed the SIM card from her mobile phone and fled the scene. Initially, the husband lodged a complaint against unknown persons, suspecting foul play but unaware of the perpetrator's identity.

This evidence directed them to Rishabh Kumar, who was subsequently arrested on Monday in the Kurra police station area.
