Tragic Death in Ghaziabad Village as Mother Intervenes in Son's Fight
In a heartbreaking incident in Ghaziabad, a 40-year-old woman lost her life while attempting to protect her son during a violent altercation. The tragedy unfolded in Bhudgadhi village, located in the Masuri area, where a dispute over unpaid wages escalated into fatal violence.
Details of the Wage Dispute Turned Violent
According to police authorities, the incident began on Sunday afternoon when 20-year-old Anil Kumar visited another villager to collect Rs 1,400 in outstanding wages. What should have been a routine transaction quickly deteriorated into a heated argument between the two men over the money.
The situation turned physical when the accused individual, accompanied by an accomplice, allegedly began assaulting Kumar. The confrontation grew increasingly violent as tempers flared in the village setting.
Mother's Fatal Intervention
Upon learning about her son's predicament, Leela Devi rushed to the scene to rescue him from the ongoing assault. Assistant Commissioner of Police (Masuri) Lipi Nagayach provided detailed accounts of the tragic sequence of events.
"Someone from the area informed Devi about her son's fight. Immediately, she rushed to the spot and tried to save him," stated ACP Nagayach. "She registered her protest with the accused and asked for her son to be released. But the accused started misbehaving with her."
Despite facing hostility, the determined mother managed to extract her son from the dangerous situation. However, during this rescue attempt, the situation took a devastating turn.
"Although she somehow managed to rescue her son, in the process, the accused struck her on the head with a brick. This caused serious injuries, leaving her drenched in blood," the ACP explained, describing the brutal attack that would ultimately claim Devi's life.
Aftermath and Police Investigation
Following the traumatic incident, Devi returned home with her family. Her relatives reported that she fell asleep after the ordeal, but when she failed to wake up on Monday morning, they grew concerned and rushed her to a nearby medical facility.
Tragically, doctors declared her dead upon arrival at the hospital. The authorities have since sent her body for autopsy, with official reports pending that will provide more details about the exact cause of death.
Police have formed a dedicated investigation team to examine all aspects of the case. Notably, no formal complaint has been filed by the victim's family at this time, though authorities confirm that investigative procedures are actively underway.
The incident highlights the dangerous consequences that can arise from financial disputes in community settings, particularly when they escalate to physical violence. Local residents have expressed shock at the tragic outcome of what began as a disagreement over relatively modest wage payments.
As the investigation continues, police are working to gather additional witness statements and forensic evidence to build a comprehensive understanding of the events that led to this fatal confrontation in Ghaziabad's Masuri area.
