Woman Murdered, Body Stuffed in Sack, Buried at Sonipat Site

Sonipat: In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly murdered, her body stuffed in a sack, and then buried at a construction site in Sonipat's Gohana town. The crime came to light after an anonymous call prompted a late-night search by police on Sunday.

Discovery of the Body

The body of Priyanka alias Seema, a resident of Gohana's Forest Department Lane, was found beneath the foundation of an under-construction building. Her husband, Sandeep, has been untraceable, according to police.

Police Investigation

Gohana City police station SHO Devender Kumar stated that the couple worked as rag-pickers. The anonymous call regarding the body was received around 11:10 pm, after which police began searching the under-construction site near New Vegetable Market. They eventually found a sack buried under the foundation. Upon untying it, they discovered the woman's body inside.

The SHO said the victim was possibly murdered elsewhere. The postmortem will be conducted at Gohana Civil Hospital.

Suspected Motive

Police suspect marital discord behind the killing, as the husband remains untraceable. "We are still investigating the case from all angles. The forensics team has collected evidence. Also, teams are on the lookout for her husband," added the SHO.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities exploring all possible leads.
