Victim Identified as Kamla Devi, Heart Patient

The victim has been identified as Kamla Devi, a resident of the village who had been battling a heart ailment. According to family sources, she was undergoing regular treatment at a private hospital in Hisar. Her last medical check-up occurred on January 20, just days before the tragic event unfolded.

Kamla Devi lived with her son, Mohit, in the family home. Her two other children, who are married, resided separately. The family had lost their father 24 years ago, making this loss even more devastating for the close-knit household.

Son Discovers Mother's Body Upon Return from Delhi

The harrowing scene was uncovered by Kamla Devi's son, Mohit, when he returned from Delhi around 6 pm on Tuesday. Upon entering the home, he found his mother's lifeless body, prompting immediate distress and alarm.

Mohit reported to the authorities that certain personal items were missing from the scene. Specifically, his mother's gold chain and earrings had been taken. However, in a puzzling twist, approximately Rs 2 lakh in cash and other jewellery stored in a cupboard within the house remained untouched, raising questions about the motive behind the crime.

Police Register Case Under BNS Sections

Responding swiftly to the incident, the Narnaund police have registered a formal case to investigate the murder. The case has been filed under sections 103(1), which pertains to murder, and 309(4), related to robbery, of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
