A woman was rescued by police and fire personnel after she threatened to jump from the fifth floor of a building in Bengaluru's BTM Layout, holding her child. The incident occurred on Monday evening, prompting a swift response from authorities.

The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, allegedly threatened to jump unless the chief ministers of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu came to the spot and spoke to her. A passerby alerted the police through the emergency number 112, leading to the deployment of a rescue team.
Police and fire department personnel arrived at the scene and engaged in negotiations with the woman. After a tense standoff lasting about an hour, they managed to safely bring her and the child down from the ledge.
Response and Aftermath
According to a senior police officer, the woman was taken into custody and is being questioned to understand the reasons behind her drastic action. She has been referred for counseling. The child was unharmed and has been placed under the care of family members.
