A disturbing incident of privacy violation has been reported from Bengaluru, where a 28-year-old woman alleged that an unidentified man secretly recorded her while she was bathing in her apartment. The incident took place on May 31 at around 8:15 PM in the Green Glen Layout area.

Details of the Incident

The victim, a resident of the apartment, stated that she was taking a bath when she noticed a mobile phone near the bathroom window. The phone was being used to record her without her consent. She described the device as sea-green in color and featuring a dual-camera setup. Additionally, she noted that the suspect was wearing a grey T-shirt at the time.

Upon realizing she was being filmed, the woman immediately raised an alarm. However, the accused managed to flee the scene before he could be identified or apprehended.

Legal Action Taken

A case has been registered under Section 66E of the Information Technology Act, which deals with punishment for violation of privacy, and Section 77 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to voyeurism. The police are treating the matter with urgency.

Investigation Underway

A senior police officer confirmed that the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are scrutinizing CCTV footage from the building and surrounding areas to gather clues about the suspect's identity. The police are also examining other evidence to track down the perpetrator.
