The victim, identified as Tabassum, a homemaker and neighbor who was watching the festivities, sustained a head injury and is currently undergoing treatment at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital.
Panic Erupts as Accused Flees Scene
According to police officials, the incident occurred around 11 pm when a group of young men was dancing to loud DJ music during wedding celebrations. During the festivities, a firearm was allegedly brandished and fired into the air as part of traditional celebratory firing. Tragically, one bullet reportedly struck Tabassum, who was present nearby, causing critical injuries to her head.

A senior police officer involved in the case provided details about the chaotic scene, stating: "The firing was not continuous. Attendees and local residents did not understand when the weapon was brandished or how it was fired, which complicated initial responses to the incident."
Investigators are pursuing multiple lines of inquiry:
- Examining whether the firearm used in the incident was legally licensed or illegally acquired
- Reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to trace the escape route taken by the accused
- Questioning multiple witnesses to reconstruct the precise sequence of events
- Working to identify and locate the absconding suspect

This legal action underscores the seriousness with which law enforcement is treating this dangerous incident.
