In a shocking incident in Ujjain, a woman allegedly slit the throat of her lover's wife with a blade outside Panwasa police station on Friday after a heated argument escalated into violence. The victim, Ritika, was seriously injured and rushed to the district hospital for treatment.
Incident Details
According to police, the accused woman, a resident of Jaisinghpura, was in a relationship with Shubham Prajapat, a resident of Bajrang Colony on Maksi Road. Shubham is married to Ritika and has a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
On Friday afternoon, the accused reached Shubham's house and got into an altercation with Ritika. The dispute quickly turned violent, prompting a call to Dial-112. Both women were brought to Panwasa police station to resolve the matter.
Attack Outside Police Station
However, the argument resumed outside the police station, where the accused pulled out a blade and slit Ritika's throat. Police personnel immediately intervened, rushing the injured woman to the hospital and taking the accused into custody.
Legal Action
Panwasa police station in-charge Gamarsingh Mandloi stated that a case of assault has been registered against the accused woman, while a cross-case under minor assault charges has been lodged against Ritika. Both women are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing.
This incident highlights the dangers of extramarital relationships and the need for conflict resolution to prevent such violent outcomes.
