A tragic incident unfolded in Mohali on Thursday evening when a 30-year-old woman employed at a private company in Sector 66 was allegedly stabbed to death by her former partner. The accused later attempted to take his own life using the same weapon.
Victim and Accused Identified
The deceased has been identified as Dimple, a resident of Patiala. She worked at a packers and movers company alongside the accused, Harvinder Mann, also known as Harry. Both had been employed at the firm for nearly three years.
Background of the Relationship
According to police, preliminary investigations suggest that the two were previously in a romantic relationship but had separated about six months ago. Police sources indicated that Harvinder had been attempting to rekindle the relationship, while Dimple had chosen to distance herself from him.
The Incident
On Thursday evening, Dimple was working late at the office when Harvinder arrived. An argument reportedly broke out between them, during which he allegedly attacked her with a knife, inflicting multiple injuries. The assault caused panic among other staff members who were present at the time.
Accused's Suicide Attempt
After the attack, the accused reportedly stabbed himself multiple times. Upon receiving information, police rushed to the scene and transported both individuals to a private hospital. Doctors declared Dimple dead on arrival, while Harvinder remains admitted in critical condition.

Police have collected evidence from the crime scene and registered a murder case against Harvinder.
