The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Yamunanagar has made a breakthrough in the murder case of a property dealer by arresting a suspect after a brief chase. The accused, identified as a local resident, was allegedly involved in the killing that had sent shockwaves through the real estate community.
Details of the Arrest
According to police officials, the CIA team received a tip-off about the suspect's whereabouts late Tuesday evening. Acting swiftly, the team laid a trap near a busy market area. When the accused spotted the police, he attempted to flee on a motorcycle, leading to a short pursuit. The police managed to corner him and took him into custody without any untoward incident.
During the arrest, the police recovered a pistol and the motorcycle used in the crime. The weapon is believed to be the one used in the murder. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused had a personal vendetta against the victim, though the exact motive is still being probed.
Background of the Case
The property dealer, whose name has not been disclosed, was found dead in his office earlier this month. The victim had received multiple threats over a land dispute, and the case was initially handled by the local police. However, due to the complexity and public outcry, the investigation was transferred to the CIA.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Yamunanagar confirmed the arrest and praised the team for their swift action. He stated that the accused will be produced before a local court and further interrogation will be conducted to uncover any accomplices.
The real estate fraternity in Yamunanagar has welcomed the arrest, expressing hope that justice will be served. Meanwhile, the police have assured that all aspects of the case are being thoroughly examined.
