Victim Identified as Suresh with Criminal History

The deceased has been identified as Suresh, a resident of VOC Nagar near Pettai in Tirunelveli. According to police sources, Suresh worked as a construction labourer and had several previous criminal cases registered against him. These cases included charges related to the sale of ganja and robbery.

Just months earlier, Suresh had been arrested by the Arumuganeri police for possession of ganja. He had been in jail but was released on bail on Friday morning, mere hours before the fatal attack.

Brutal Attack Near Construction Site

The tragic incident unfolded on Friday night when Suresh was standing in front of a construction site near his house. A gang arrived on a two-wheeler and launched a vicious attack using sickles. After hacking the youth, the assailants quickly fled the scene, leaving Suresh critically injured.

Bystanders rushed the severely wounded Suresh to the Tirunelveli Government Medical College Hospital for emergency treatment. However, despite their efforts and the medical team's intervention, doctors declared him brought dead upon arrival.

The Pettai police have registered a case in connection with the murder and have launched a comprehensive investigation. Law enforcement officials are actively searching for the individuals involved in the brutal attack.
