19-Year-Old Fatally Shot in Dewas, Friend Injured in Late-Night Violence
A tragic incident unfolded in the Bhawani Sagar area of Dewas late Thursday night, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old youth and injuries to his friend. The victim, identified as Ladoo alias Shubham Nath, was at his home having dinner around 1 am when he received a distressing call from his friend, Gautam (23).
Violent Turn of Events
Gautam informed Shubham that a group of men had stopped him and were picking a fight. Shubham immediately rushed to the spot in an attempt to defuse the situation. However, the confrontation took a violent turn when the accused individuals pulled out a pistol and opened fire.
Shubham was struck in the chest and died on the spot, while Gautam sustained a gunshot wound in his leg. The sudden escalation of violence has left the local community in shock and mourning.
History of Disputes and Allegations
According to Amit Solanki, the in-charge of Nahar Darwaza police station, both parties involved had a history of disputes. Shubham ran a shop selling coconuts, offerings, and photographs near the Tekri area. His family has alleged that the accused had been harassing him for money and had previously set his motorcycle on fire, indicating a pattern of intimidation.
Police Action and Investigation
The police have registered a case against six persons: Bali, Ritik Sihote, Tushar Sihote, Mattu Sihote, Rahul, and Vipin Bali. Solanki stated, "Teams have been dispatched to Indore and other areas to nab the suspects." In a related development, one of the accused reportedly admitted himself to a hospital on Friday morning with injuries sustained during the clash and is now under police surveillance.
