Bettiah: A total of 227 newly-trained constables of the Bihar Police participated in a grand ceremonial parade at the 65th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Bagaha on Wednesday. The recruits, belonging to the East Champaran district police, had been undergoing training since July 2025.
Training Program
The training program was conducted under the leadership of Commandant Nandan Singh Mehra. It focused on physical fitness, drill, discipline, weapon handling, disaster management, and public dealing. Additionally, Bihar Police officials trained the recruits in law and order management, crime control, investigation procedures, and provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Special sessions were also conducted by experts from the customs department, forest department, and cyber crime units.
Chief Guest Address
Inspector General Anusuya Ransingh Sahu attended the ceremony as the chief guest. She addressed the recruits and emphasized the importance of integrity, discipline, and dedication in service. "Police personnel form the backbone of a state's security system, and your role will be extremely crucial," she said. SSB DIG Hari Prakash and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
Awards and Recognition
At the end of the ceremony, outstanding trainees were honored for their performance. Abhishek Kumar was judged the best all-rounder, while Nitish Kumar received the award for best indoor performance. Naveen Kumar was named best in outdoor performance, Vikas Kumar as best firer, Sujit Kumar for best drill and turnout, Prince Kumar Choudhary for sports, and Sudhir Kumar for physical fitness.
