A 32-year-old man was discovered murdered under mysterious circumstances in agricultural fields near Lakhuwal village on Thursday, prompting the police to launch an investigation into the incident.
Victim Identification
The deceased has been identified as Sukhwinder Singh, also known as Sarwan, a resident of Shehzada village under the Ramdass police station. He had left his home on Wednesday evening to purchase goods from the Ajnala area but failed to return by the following morning.
Discovery of the Body
Family members initiated a search when Sukhwinder did not come back. They reached the Ajnala-Jagdev Kalan road area, where they learned that an unidentified body had been found in the fields owned by Mukhtiar Singh of Lakhuwal village. Upon arriving at the scene, the family identified the body as Sukhwinder Singh.
Injuries and Evidence
The complainant, Virsa Singh of Saidpur Khurd village, a relative of the deceased, stated that the victim had sustained multiple severe injuries to his neck, jaw, and face. The nature of the wounds indicated that a sharp-edged weapon may have been used in the attack. Additionally, Sukhwinder's motorcycle (registration number PB17-B-9651) was discovered lying a short distance from the body.
Allegations and Investigation
Family members alleged that unknown individuals assaulted Sukhwinder Singh during the night and murdered him before abandoning his body in the fields. They have demanded strict action against those responsible for the crime. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
