AAP Accuses SAD of Politicizing Akal Takht After Mann Declared 'Guru Dokhi'
AAP Hits Back at Akal Takht Order Against Bhagwant Mann

Chandigarh: Just hours after the Akal Takht declared chief minister Bhagwant Mann a 'Guru Dokhi' (the Guru's adversary) and 'Khalsa Panth Virodhi' (anti-Khalsa Panth), AAP Punjab media in-charge Baltej Pannu accused the SAD and the family of its president, Sukhbir Singh Badal, of dragging revered Sikh institutions into a political battle after losing public trust and facing repeated electoral defeats.

Pannu described the Akal Takht's action as a fallout of the SAD's 'desperate bid to regain relevance' and its 'last political card'. Addressing the media here, Pannu questioned the forensic report cited in the matter, claiming it failed to establish the identity of the person seen in the video. He said the report did not identify the individual in the footage and questioned whether the person visible in the video was Bhagwant Mann.

Pannu said AAP would soon place the 'complete truth' before the public and expose every aspect of the controversy. He accused the Badal family of attempting to claim moral authority despite the sacrilege incidents and the Behbal Kalan firing during the SAD-BJP regime.

He also questioned the appointment of the Akal Takht jathedar, alleging that the appointment was made at the behest of Sukhbir Badal without wider consultation within the Sikh community. Claiming that Sikh institutions had been politicised, Pannu cited past remarks by SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami describing himself as a soldier of Sukhbir Badal.

'The Badal family has been unable to digest the AAP government's law against sacrilege and has now played its last political card,' Pannu alleged, adding that the jathedar had been drawn into a political battle.
