AAP Vows Parliamentary Action on Ajit Pawar Plane Crash Conspiracy Claims

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), a significant constituent of the opposition INDIA bloc, has formally endorsed NCP (SP) legislator Rohit Pawar's allegations of a potential conspiracy behind the tragic plane crash that claimed the life of his uncle, Ajit Pawar. The party has committed to bringing this contentious issue to the forefront during the upcoming Parliament session commencing on Monday.

Delhi Meeting Fuels Opposition Scrutiny

Rohit Pawar convened with former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal, alongside the party's Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh, in the national capital on Saturday. During this pivotal meeting, he presented comprehensive details regarding the fatal aircraft incident near Baramati airport on January 28, which resulted in Ajit Pawar's demise.

Sanjay Singh articulated the party's stance post-meeting, stating, "Rohit provided extensive information concerning the plane crash. When we escalate this matter in Parliament, the government will be left without a defensible response. There is a palpable suspicion linking the crash to the ongoing merger negotiations within the NCP factions. This necessitates a thorough investigation."

Black Box Controversy and Broader Implications

Singh further emphasized the dubious nature of the government's assertion that the aircraft's black box was irreparably damaged. "The government's claim regarding the black box damage is highly suspicious. Larger aviation disasters, including the Ahmedabad tragedy, have seen successful recovery of black boxes. Given the escalating doubts surrounding Ajit Pawar's death, we are compelled to address this in Parliament," he informed reporters in Delhi.

Rohit Pawar clarified that his visit to Delhi was strategically aimed at soliciting support from INDIA bloc allies to elevate the issue to a national platform. "Our attempts to file an FIR in Maharashtra were thwarted by uncooperative police authorities. Consequently, I have approached Delhi to nationalize this concern. Arvind Kejriwal has assured unwavering support and advocates for substantial reforms within the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)," Rohit explained.

Opposition Outreach and Awaiting Official Report

The NCP (SP) MLA announced his intention to remain in Delhi for several days to engage with other opposition leaders, including Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, to deliberate on the circumstances of Ajit Pawar's death.

In a parallel development, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, widow of Ajit Pawar, indicated that she would reserve her comments until the final investigation report is submitted. Addressing reporters in Pune, she remarked, "Multiple agencies are currently investigating the case. The recently submitted report by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau is preliminary, not conclusive. I will articulate my position once the final report is available."

This unfolding scenario underscores a deepening political rift, with the opposition intensifying pressure for transparency and accountability in the investigation of the plane crash, while authorities await formal findings.
