ABVP Meeting Adopts Resolutions on Education, Security, Women

The three-day National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) concluded in Bhubaneswar on Sunday, with the adoption of four key resolutions focusing on educational reforms, national security, women's safety, and global challenges. The meeting, which saw participation from over 400 ABVP workers from across the country, addressed contemporary national issues, the education system, youth participation, and socio-economic challenges.

Key Resolutions and Highlights

A major highlight of the concluding day was ABVP's call for increased investment in research and development (R&D) by Indian industries to foster innovation and accelerate the vision of a developed India. The organization emphasized the need for stronger collaboration among educational institutions, industry, and youth to achieve this goal.

National General Secretary of ABVP, Virendra Singh Solanki, stated that the resolutions reflect the organization's vision of a developed, secure, and self-reliant Bharat. He said, "Increased investment in R&D and long-term partnerships between industry and universities would help position India as a global leader in innovation and knowledge economy. Through this meeting, a collective resolve has been taken to make the education system more effective and student-centric, address challenges such as urban Maoism confronting national security, curb organized crimes and conspiracies of religious conversion targeting women, and uphold national interest amidst global uncertainties."

Resolutions Passed

The NEC unanimously passed resolutions on the following issues:

  • Effective ground-level implementation to make educational reforms successful.
  • Urban Maoism as a threat to national security.
  • Curbing the exploitation and religious conversion of women by organized criminal networks and jihadi elements.
  • National resolve of restraint and vigilance in times of global uncertainty.

Organizational Activities and Future Plans

Delegates also reviewed organizational activities and finalized an action plan for the coming year. The meeting announced nationwide programs to mark the 60th year of the Students' Experience in Inter-state Living initiative and several other commemorative campaigns.

The ABVP's focus on R&D investment and collaboration between academia and industry is expected to contribute to India's growth as a global innovation hub. The resolutions on women's safety and national security highlight the organization's commitment to addressing pressing societal issues.
