Akhilesh Yadav Condemns BJP MP Ravi Kishan's 'Stress Buster' Remark for CM Yogi Adityanath
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has launched a sharp critique against Bharatiya Janata Party MP Ravi Kishan following reports that the latter described himself as a "stress buster" for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In a scathing post on social media platform X, Yadav questioned the fundamental responsibilities of elected officials and accused the ruling BJP of being disconnected from public concerns.
Yadav Questions Role of Elected Representatives
"A member of Parliament is a representative of the people, not a toy of the chief minister. Is this a government or a circus?" Yadav wrote in his post. The Kannauj MP emphasized that while ordinary citizens are grappling with numerous difficulties, leaders from the ruling party appear to be engaged in what he termed "frivolous exchanges."
Yadav further described the reported comment as an embarrassment for Gorakhpur, the Lok Sabha constituency represented by Kishan. He suggested that the BJP MP could face consequences for publicly implying that the chief minister was under significant stress.
Public Anger and Government Actions Cited
The Samajwadi Party leader added that public anger, fueled by alleged corruption and what he called "atrocities" by the government, might be contributing to such stress within the administration. This criticism comes in response to media reports quoting Kishan as saying that CM Adityanath enjoys his company and that he acts as a stress reliever for him.
This incident marks another chapter in the ongoing political tensions between Yadav and Kishan. Last year, after Kishan compared Gorakhpur to Spain, Yadav questioned whether the BJP MP could even locate Spain on a world map, highlighting a pattern of contentious exchanges between the two politicians.
Broader Political Implications
The controversy underscores deeper political rivalries in Uttar Pradesh, with opposition leaders using such remarks to challenge the BJP's governance narrative. Yadav's statements reflect a strategic attempt to portray the ruling party as out of touch with voter priorities, focusing instead on personal dynamics rather than public service.
As Uttar Pradesh continues to be a critical battleground in national politics, such exchanges are likely to intensify, with both sides leveraging media attention to shape public perception ahead of future electoral contests.
