Amit Shah Condemns Rahul Gandhi's Parliamentary Protest and AI Summit Demonstrations

"Chai-Pakora" Protest at Parliament Draws Ire
In his address, Shah took direct aim at Rahul Gandhi for what he described as an inappropriate protest at the entrance of the Parliament of India. The Home Minister highlighted that Gandhi was seen sitting at the Parliament door while consuming tea and pakoras during the demonstration against LPG shortages. Shah emphasized that such behavior, according to him, does not befit the dignity of the country's highest democratic institution.
"While peaceful protests are an integral part of our democratic fabric, the manner and location of this particular demonstration were completely unsuitable," Shah stated during the rally. He argued that the Parliament building represents the sovereignty of the Indian people and should be treated with utmost respect by all political leaders, regardless of their disagreements with government policies.
AI Summit Demonstrations Called "Harmful to National Image"
The Union Home Minister also strongly condemned opposition protests that took place during the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi. Shah referenced an incident where Congress youth workers staged a shirtless demonstration at the international event, which was designed to showcase India's technological advancements and attract global investment.
Shah asserted that while protest is a democratic right, using an international platform meant for promoting India's technological capabilities for political demonstrations was fundamentally wrong. He expressed concern that such actions could damage India's reputation on the global stage and potentially discourage foreign investors who were attending the summit to explore opportunities in the country's growing technology sector.
"The AI Impact Summit was organized to position India as a leader in artificial intelligence and bring international attention to our innovations," Shah explained. "Turning such an important event into a venue for political protests sends the wrong message to the world about our nation's priorities and stability."

The Home Minister's comments come amid ongoing political tensions between the ruling BJP and opposition Congress party. The LPG shortage issue has been a point of contention, with Congress accusing the government of failing to ensure adequate supply of cooking gas to households across the country.
