Amit Shah Orders Crackdown on Illegal Structures Near Indo-Pak Border
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed authorities to demolish all illegal constructions within 15 kilometres of India’s international borders as part of a “zero tolerance” policy against encroachment and cross-border crime. During a security review meeting in Rajasthan’s Bikaner, Shah also ordered stricter monitoring of mule accounts, fake companies, narcotics networks and suspicious financial activity in border districts adjoining Pakistan.
The directive aims to strengthen national security and curb illegal activities along the sensitive border region. Officials have been instructed to identify and remove all unauthorized structures promptly, with a focus on areas vulnerable to infiltration and smuggling. The move is expected to enhance surveillance and reduce the risk of cross-border crimes.
Shah emphasized the need for coordinated efforts between central and state agencies to ensure effective implementation. He also called for regular audits of financial transactions in border districts to detect and disrupt illegal funding channels. The crackdown is part of a broader strategy to secure India's borders and maintain internal security.
