AP attracts Rs 23 lakh crore investments in two years: CM Naidu

Vijayawada: Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s technology-led governance model, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said policy reforms and transparent administration helped the state attract investments exceeding ₹23 lakh crore in the last two years. He said the government’s business-friendly ecosystem proved vital for creating opportunities for large-scale employment and economic growth.

NITI Aayog Meeting Address

Addressing the governing council meeting of NITI Aayog on Thursday, Naidu said AP has been leveraging the real-time governance society (RTGS), artificial intelligence-based analytics, real-time monitoring systems, and predictive governance tools such as AWARE to improve administrative efficiency. He explained that the government has enabled data-driven decision-making and strengthened the delivery of government services.

Swarna Andhra @2047 Vision

Presenting the Swarna Andhra @2047 vision at the meeting, Naidu said the roadmap aligns with the national objective of Viksit Bharat @2047 and aims to transform AP into a prosperous, inclusive and globally competitive economy through a human capital-driven development model. Call for Policy Stability

Emphasising sustainable economic growth, he called upon states to concentrate on strengthening infrastructure and ensuring policy stability. He wanted states to expedite approvals and clearances rather than engaging in unhealthy competition through unsustainable incentive packages to attract investments. He said AP is committed to ensuring that every family has access to seven basic necessities — housing, sanitation, tap water, clean cooking fuel, electricity, digital connectivity, and direct benefit transfers — as part of its inclusive development agenda.

P4-MBK 10-20 Initiative

Highlighting the P4-MBK 10-20 initiative, he said the programme encourages the top 10% of society to support the bottom 20% through philanthropy, mentorship and community participation, creating a more equitable growth model. Naidu said AP is implementing Project Sanjeevani, a digitally connected healthcare ecosystem focused on preventive healthcare, integrated digital health records, and improving access to quality medical services across the state.

Education and Skilling Reforms

The chief minister said the government is introducing reforms centred on AI-enabled learning, industry-integrated higher education, and flexible lifelong learning pathways. He said advanced skilling programmes in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and quantum technologies will also be launched in the state.

Focus on Population Management

Naidu stressed the need for greater focus on demographic sustainability, noting that AP’s fertility rate is declining and is below 1.5. He said the state is working on a population management policy to address future workforce shortages, ageing-related challenges, and long-term economic stability. He reiterated AP’s commitment to cooperative federalism and continued close work with the Centre and NITI Aayog to achieve Viksit Bharat 2047.
