Union Minister Jitendra Singh has stated that the abrogation of Article 370 has triggered significant development and a profound mindset change in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking on the matter, he highlighted how young boys and girls from the region have overcome their fears and excelled in various fields across the country over the last few years.
Transformation in Jammu and Kashmir
Singh emphasized that the removal of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, paved the way for unprecedented growth and integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India. He noted that the region has witnessed a surge in infrastructure projects, improved connectivity, and enhanced educational opportunities, which have collectively contributed to a shift in the outlook of its residents.
Youth Empowerment and Achievements
The minister specifically pointed to the achievements of young people from the Union Territory. He remarked that earlier, many youths from J&K harbored fears and uncertainties, but today they are confidently participating in national-level competitions, securing top positions in academic institutions, and contributing to the country's progress. This change, according to Singh, is a direct result of the policies implemented after the abrogation.

While the government has consistently defended the move, opposition parties have criticized it as being unconstitutional and detrimental to the region's special status. However, Singh reiterated that the development trajectory of J&K under the new framework has been positive, with a focus on inclusive growth and good governance.
