Chandigarh: Rail passengers in the Ateli region will soon benefit from improved connectivity following the Railways' approval of a stoppage for the Daurai-Tanakpur Express at Ateli railway station. The halt for Train No. 15091/15092 was sanctioned on an experimental basis, as per a notification issued by the North Western Railway.
The decision came after persistent efforts by Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma, who raised the long-pending demand with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The move is expected to significantly benefit students, employees, traders, and other commuters from Ateli and surrounding areas by enhancing access to rail services.
Expressing gratitude, Sharma thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the railway minister for approving the demand. She stated that the new halt would provide much-needed convenience to local residents and strengthen transport connectivity in the region. The experimental stoppage marks a step forward in addressing the infrastructure needs of the Ateli area, promising easier travel and economic benefits for the community.
