The party’s decision was formalized through a statement from AICC general secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal, which read: "Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the proposal for the candidature of the following persons as Congress candidates to contest the biennial elections to the Legislative Council of Karnataka to be elected by the MLAs - B K Hariprasad, Tippannappa Kamaknoor, P V Mohan and Shivanna Mallvalli."

Election Schedule and Key Dates

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced elections for the Legislative Councils of Bihar and Karnataka. In Bihar, elections will be held for 10 MLC seats, while Karnataka will see polling for seven MLC seats scheduled for June 18. The last date for filing nominations is June 8, and candidates can withdraw their nominations until June 11.
