A tragic road accident in Bengaluru claimed the life of a 21-year-old engineering student on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred on the Srinivasapura main road near Uttarahalli when a BMTC bus collided with her scooter.
Victim Identified
The deceased has been identified as Shirisha NR, a final-year student at RNS Institute of Technology in Channasandra. She was pursuing her engineering degree and was on her way when the accident happened.
Details of the Accident
According to police reports, Shirisha was riding her gearless electric scooter alongside the BMTC bus (registration number KA-57-F-5071). The two vehicles accidentally brushed against each other, causing Shirisha to lose balance and fall onto the road. She was then run over by the right rear wheel of the bus, resulting in instantaneous death.
The bus driver, identified as Chandrashekhar, has been booked under charges of causing death due to negligence. Legal proceedings have been initiated against him.
