Tension escalated in West Bengal's Bhatpara area after a CISF jawan was shot during a clash in the Jagaddal belt. The incident occurred amid rising political confrontations ahead of the elections.
Clashes Outside Police Station
The situation worsened when BJP candidate Rajesh Kumar arrived at the police station to file a complaint. Fresh clashes reportedly broke out at the scene. The BJP alleged that their workers were attacked outside the police station, while the Trinamool Congress (TMC) claimed their workers were assaulted first, blaming BJP leaders and supporters for the escalation.
Attack Near Pawan Kumar Singh's Residence
Serious allegations have emerged of an attack near the residence of Pawan Kumar Singh, where firing reportedly took place. A CISF jawan sustained injuries in the firing. Police resorted to a lathi charge to control the mob, and heavy deployment of central forces and the Rapid Action Force (RAF) has been made in the area.
