The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of spreading misinformation regarding the Supreme Court hearing on the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) issue. The BJP stated that Gandhi is clueless about the matter and urged him to refrain from making baseless allegations.
BJP's Stance on Rahul Gandhi's Comments
In a strongly worded statement, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that Rahul Gandhi's remarks on the NEET hearing were misleading and aimed at creating confusion among students and parents. Patra emphasized that the Supreme Court is handling the matter with due diligence and that Gandhi should not trivialize the judicial process.
Allegations of Misinformation
Patra alleged that Gandhi deliberately misrepresented the facts of the case to gain political mileage. He pointed out that the Congress leader claimed the government was trying to dilute the NEET exam, which is completely false. The BJP maintained that the government is committed to ensuring a fair and transparent examination system.
Call for Responsible Discourse
The BJP urged Rahul Gandhi to focus on constructive issues rather than spreading falsehoods. Patra said, "The Congress party has a history of misleading the public, and this is another example. We request Rahul Gandhi to understand the legal nuances before making statements." The BJP also called for a responsible political discourse on educational reforms.
The Supreme Court is currently hearing petitions related to the NEET exam, and the government has assured that the interests of students will be protected. The BJP's criticism comes amid a heated political exchange over the issue, with the Congress accusing the government of mishandling the examination process.
