Sukhdev, who was reportedly spared by the assailants, informed Sanjay's family members. The injured youth was rushed to the local Civil Hospital and later referred to Faridkot for specialised treatment.

Maninder Singh, SHO, City Police Station-I, Abohar, said that according to Sanjay's statement, two to three persons initially intercepted him, after which several others joined them and allegedly carried out the attack.

The SHO said that Sanjay sustained four to five blunt injuries. Police are investigating the incident, and an FIR will be registered after receiving the medico-legal report regarding the nature of the injuries.

Condemning the attack, Abohar MLA Sandeep Jakhar raised concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in the town. He alleged that incidents of violence were increasing and that residents were feeling insecure.
