BJP MLC CT Ravi Warns of Cabinet Chaos in Karnataka

Shivamogga: Senior BJP leader and MLC CT Ravi on Saturday expressed concerns over the ongoing squabbling among senior leaders regarding portfolio allocation following the cabinet expansion in Karnataka. He warned that such internal discord does not bode well for the state, especially with the cabinet yet to be fully expanded. Ravi stated that the current dissatisfaction among senior leaders points to chaos once the entire process is complete.

Ravi's Warning on CM Shivakumar's Challenges

Speaking to reporters, Ravi remarked that the situation could leave Chief Minister DK Shivakumar spending all his time managing internal friction rather than focusing on governance. He suggested that mass leaders like former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah remain highly influential and have imposed sharp checks on the CM to prevent him from interfering in other departments. This dynamic, Ravi argued, could hinder effective administration.

Raghavendra Flags Early Signs of Failure

Shivamogga MP BY Raghavendra echoed similar sentiments, expressing a lack of confidence in the newly sworn-in government under Shivakumar. He stated that while people initially held out hope, signs of failure are already visible through public expressions of discontent from veteran leaders. Raghavendra's remarks underscore growing unease within the political circles about the government's stability.

Bhojegowda Rebukes Demands for Ministries

JD(S) MLC SL Bhojegowda took a harsh stance against lawmakers throwing tantrums over ministerial portfolios. He declared that while aspiring to be a minister is acceptable, demanding specific portfolios is an unpardonable offense. Bhojegowda expressed confidence that Shivakumar possesses the political acumen to manage his 136 MLAs and successfully complete the remaining two years of the government's term.

Ravi on Annamalai's Decision

In a separate statement, Ravi addressed the departure of former Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai from the party's state leadership. He disagreed with the narrative that Annamalai was mistreated by the party. Ravi described Annamalai as highly ambitious and a good man who would never engage in politics that harm Tamil Nadu's interests or national security. He noted that Annamalai has chosen a new path based on different reasons.

Ravi's Wishes for Annamalai

Ravi said, 'I wish him the best in his service to the state and the nation. We will maintain our friendship and personal relationship with him.' He added, 'In politics, things do not always go as predicted. As long as someone works for the nation, it is not mandatory that they must only belong to our party, though I do hope he remains within the BJP framework. If he chooses to do good through another path, let him succeed.'

These developments highlight the ongoing political tensions in Karnataka, with senior leaders from various parties weighing in on the cabinet expansion and internal dynamics within the government.
